NXP i.MX RT Processor – Perfect Fusion of Two Worlds

In recent years, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Internet of Things, various industries have increasingly high performance requirements for embedded processors. In the era of the Internet of Things, with more and more IoT applications landing, embedded processors are particularly important in our future lives. Product developers hope to use devices with low cost, high computing performance, and more reliable security and privacy protection.

In order to meet the demand of millions of Edge device connected to today’s Internet of Things for high-performance embedded processors, as well as the demand for machine learning at edge nodes. NX Semiconductor (hereinafter referred to as NX) held a new product launch in Beijing and officially launched the i. MX RT series cross-border solution. It is reported that the i. MX RT cross-border processor has achieved a score of 3020 CoreMark and 1284DMIPS, and can provide 20 nanoseconds of interrupt delay at 600 MHz. The price has a strong advantage in similar solutions. Enzhipu addresses this challenge by building an i.MX RT crossover processor, which not only provides high performance and functionality of application processors, but also has the ease of use and real-time deterministic operation of traditional microcontrollers (MCUs). Ideal applications include audio subsystems, consumer and healthcare, home and building automation, industrial computing, motor control, and power conversion. i. MX was originally an application processor based on the ARM Cortex-A kernel by NXP, while RT stands for Real Time, which is a characteristic of MCU. From a practical product perspective, the i.MX RT is a cross-border product based on the i.MX 6ULL application processor architecture and equipped with the ARM Cortex-M7 microcontroller core.

RT1050 upgraded version with excellent performance

The iMX RT1060 launched by NXP this time is an enhanced version of the iMX RT1050 released by NXP in 2017. The reason why it becomes an enhanced version is because it is the largest processor in the market today. The main advantage of the processor is its high performance, and its internal configuration and performance have been improved to some extent, making it more convenient for customers to use. The graphics acceleration, Ethernet ports, and USB ports inside are also equipped with a lot of features and configurations. These features and configurations are available for sale starting at $3.48, which is also the lowest price in the market. Zeng Jintao, the global senior product manager of NXP’s microcontroller business line, said: “More products will be launched in the future. At the end of this year, RT series DSP chips will be launched for many products such as voice, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and hardware acceleration.” The current i.MX RT1050 has two major selling points in the market. The first is its performance, which is far better than other competitors. Zeng Jintao introduced, “At this time next year, we can announce that the performance of the RT1050 is at least twice that of other competitors
